On December 21st 2022, PCP Transition entered into a credit facility agreement providing SEK 300m of super senior financing to the Scandinavian Biogas group. The facility will mainly support the ongoing investment program of Scandinavian Biogas, targeting 600 GWh of biogas production by 2024. The program will strengthen Scandinavian Biogas’ position as Scandinavia’s largest producer of liquified biogas, a fossil-free alternative to diesel in sectors such as heavy truck transports and shipping, with biogas production in Sweden, Norway and Korea.
The transaction follows on previous facilities provided by PCP to Scandinavian Biogas during 2012-2018. PCP is very happy to re-establish the relationship through PCP Transition. As a producer of clean energy and organic fertilizers through a circular business model, Scandinavian Biogas fits well with PCP Transition’s investment strategy by increasing the amount of renewable energy generated as well as avoided CO2 emissions by PCP Transition’s portfolio companies.
